This position is within the Seagate Shakopee System-on-Chip (SOC) integration team supporting leading edge Hard Disk Drive custom ASIC controller development. The team integrates IP designs to generate an SOC for physical implementation while collaborating with an extended global team. This position allows you to translate your knowledge into experience processing designs in various industry standard formats using leading industry tools.
About The Role - You Will
Our Shakopee campus is located 25 minutes southwest of Minneapolis in a setting with a rural vibe – it overlooks a horse racing track and stables, yet it has great entertainment venues close by as well. With wide-open spaces, the campus has plenty of space for running, biking, shooting some hoops or playing volleyball over lunch. If working out is your thing, the on-site fully equipped fitness center hosts wellness programs, tournaments and group workouts. Hungry? Seagate offers an on-site café with freshly sourced foods and specialty coffees, or if you prefer, drive to one of many restaurants just minutes away.

About The Role - You Will
- Plan, create, and execute design implementation -- logic synthesis, timing constraints development/validation, formal verification while factoring in design for test (DFT)
- Improve methodology and design processing strategies
- Design logic for SOC level features
- Support integrating internal and 3rd party intellectual property (IP)
- Have key responsibilities as part of larger ASIC and IP development efforts
- Collaborate with experts from around the world
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Act independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments
- Critical thinking skills to create innovative solutions that solve complex problems
- Motivated and detail oriented while multitasking
- Enjoy automating processes and analyzing data
- Understanding of microprocessor systems, associated peripherals and interconnect
- Familiarity with Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) and/or SOC Logic Synthesis
- Knowledge of synchronous digital design and approach to design closure
- Understanding design for test (DFT) for multi-clock domain high performance designs
- Experience with System Verilog, TCL, Perl, Python, C
- BS or MS degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 0-2 years of experience.
- Expertise using Synopsys tools (i.e. Design Compiler, Spyglass, Primetime, etc)
- Understanding of SOC physical layout concepts and methodologies
- High speed/device level circuit design and analysis
- Use of Linux based systems/server clusters
