PRODUCTION: Mechanical Assembly - Magnet Assembly Lead

The Magnet Assembly Lead is responsible for managing, training and instructing employees in Friction Line, Coil Winding and Magnet Production. The Magnet Assembly Lead reports to the Magnet/ Mechanical Supervisor.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Delegate tasks
  • Discover problems and find solutions
  • Maintain work areas, equipment, tools, etc.
  • Assemble and test prototypes
  • Work in coil winding and Magnet Assembly
  • Train, coach and develop employees and workers
  • Coordinate with other departments
  • Follow safety rules and keep clean/orderly work area
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong computer skills to effectively use SAP and Microsoft Office
  • Basic understanding of inspection equipment (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
  • Basic math skills (standard and metric)
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools
  • Ability to follow work instructions accurately
  • Ability to do accurate work at a rapid pace
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work well independently as well as with others
  • Have attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to proficiently read and write in English
  • Ability to follow all safety rules
  • Ability to count various items with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to effectively resolve conflicts and maintain composure in stressful situations

  • Ability to train, develop, and coach employees in and outside own department
  • Ability to measure employee performance and perform follow-up / feedback
