Purpose: To manufacture metal component parts per customer specifications, it is crucial to possess a profound understanding of mechanics, alongside hands-on experience in setup and programming. In addition, proficiency in shop mathematics, comprehensive knowledge of metal properties, and expertise in machining procedures, layouts, and blueprints are vital in ensuring precise and accurate results

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Setup/Program Cincinnati press break machines.
  • Run bend and forming operations using standard and custom punches.
  • Use a CNC controller to input information into machine.
  • Adjust ram and back gauge locations per process control instructions and blueprints.
  • Checks height, depth and thickness using micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, gauges and other precision-measuring instruments.
  • Perform complex programming using all features of the press brake.
  • Work with tight tolerances.
  • Meet customer specifications and delivery requirements.
  • Program the CNC to produce new parts meeting specifications.
  • Perform spot inspections of parts.
  • Perform all required routine and minor maintenance activities according to procedures.
  • Complete and maintain paperwork.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Set up light gauge metal.
  • Configure bend allowances for sheet metal (stainless, aluminum & regular steel).
  • Check machine for defects and repair if necessary.
  • Ensure machine is calibrated and cleaned.
  • Read drawings and blueprints.

Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Ability to use measuring instruments (e. g. gauges, micrometers, calipers).
  • Must be able to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to machining problems.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift 50#
  • Frequent stooping, bending, twisting, squatting, pushing and pulling
  • Occasional lifting above shoulder level
  • Must be able to stand for 8-10 hours at a time

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Steel-toed shoes
  • Respirator as required
  • Ear plugs as required

Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing facility
  • Noise levels can be high depending on the job being run

May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
