The Head of Supply Chain is responsible for leading all aspects of supply chain (operations, quality, logistics, warehousing and scheduling) in a rapidly-growing business. Focus will be on leadership and hands-on implementation of best practices to develop a world class operation. Core focus areas are: lead, manage and drive accountability across the team; improve process reliability across all lines and roasting; improve safety, quality and customer service; proactively guide production and capital strategy and execution; achieve continuous improvement with cost savings; and foster positive business vendor relations. The role will need to develop a wide-range of policies and resolve recurring manufacturing-based issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct, supervise, mentor and develop staff to deliver operational results that meet and exceed planned expectations. Demonstrate strong leadership through training and coaching to drive excellence and a best workplace, with focus on continuous improvement.

  • Develop overall operational strategies in support of the business goals, while maintaining SQF certification.

  • Implement key performance indicators to drive improvements, inclusive of process reliability, customer satisfaction, material metrics, inventory turns, PPV, cost reductions, supplier quality and supplier development

  • Evaluate, purchase, and install manufacturing equipment as part of recommended capital strategy/plan.

  • Ensure customer on time delivery, while reducing logistic costs.

  • Build strategic alliances with key supplier partners based on metrics of quality, total cost and delivery linking to strategic business needs while reducing external spending.

  • Advise management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed

  • Establish administrative policies, procedures and standards across operations

  • Coordinate activities of operations and logistics functions with other business functions.

  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Minimum 10 years of professional Operations experience, including direct plant leadership for minimum 5 years.

  • Experience with Process Reliability improvement and Continuous Improvement initiatives like or similar to Lean Manufacturing and Design for Six Sigma critical.

  • Supply Chain/logistics experience is a plus.

  • Food Manufacturing experience (GMP Type Facility) highly preferred, but not critical.

  • Operational and Supply Chain functional expertise

    • Ability to set up simplified policy programs, measure and track success.

    • Ability to create / manage budgets.

  • Strong critical thinking with clear, fact-based written and verbal communication.

  • Ability to lead multicultural teams

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

  • SALARY: $180-190,000, annually plus bonus.

  • REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: This role will report directly to the CEO of Cameron’s Coffee and a Functional leader at the corporate level.

  • LOCATION: Corporate Headquarters located in Shakopee, MN.
