Job Summary

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
Repairs and maintains glass forming machines and equipment such as I.S machines, stackers, conveyors and lehrs. Changes equipment such as blanks, molds, invert arms, plunger mechanism and take-outs. Adjusts with computer and mechanical adjustments to glass container forming machines and related equipment. Completes requires paperwork documenting operations and production.
1. Perform diagnostic troubleshooting on all forming equipment and machinery and then respond accordingly
2. Must be able to inspect, repair, replace, adjust and maintain all forming equipment and machinery as well as perform preventive maintenance duties
3. Follow the prescribed practices that are called for in SOP’S and TOP’S that are applicable to the forming department.

MAIN POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

TYPICAL DUTIES:

Inspects glassware forming machines and related equipment.
Determines cause of breakdowns, repairing or replacing defective parts or components.
Assists in job changes.
Installs new machines or equipment and adjusts and maintains existing units to ensure operation to specifications.
Performs repairs to equipment, causing minimum delay to production.
Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Hazardous Waste Duties: Trained annually – degreasing parts, cleaning, painting, changing of fluorescent lamps.
