Job Summary
To visually examine and/or gauge glassware and pack in cartons as required and insert inner parts in filled cartons.MAIN POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Visually examines and/or gauges glass ware to ensure conformance to specifications. Packs acceptable ware in cartons and installs internal packing elements as required. Places offware in cullet tray or other receptacle for removal. Sets up ware on single line equipment, lehr, etc. and clears jams in automatic case packers and/or conveyors as required. Reselects, discards cavities and packs acceptable ware as required. Identifies cartons with stamp number, as required. Inserts inner parts in cartons. Ties batch of empty cartons as required. Removes damaged cartons from conveyor and discards into scrap bin. Discards unused cartons on job changes, as required. Maintains count of scrapped cartons. Relays verbal instructions to Carton Assembly Department. Maintains clean work area and sweeps floor as required. Shall understand and follow the Food Safety Policy, GMP’s, HACCP Principles and Food Safety Standard. Performs miscellaneous tasks as required.
SHIFT:
Individuals will be trained Monday-Friday 8am-4pm and then assigned to a crew to work rotating shifts.
Rotating shift work involves working 7 consecutive days of an 8am-4pm shift followed by 3 days off, then working 7 consecutive days of a 12mid-8am shift followed by 2 days off and then working 7 consecutive days of a 4pm-12mid shift followed by two days off and then starting back on the 8-4 shift.
This amounts to working 21 days with 7 days off in a 28-day cycle.
